GReddy turbo set up Q's
I have a 96 GSR with a greddy turbo kit that i got from a friend. The turbo kit was on a gsr with a skunk2 manifold and has no blue box or injectors.
The kit did come with:
type s bov
type 24(big) intercooler
. I was wondering if i would be able to still use the piping for the skunk2 manifold on my oem gsr manifold.
I am also looking into getting a blue box, and 310 injectors, turbo timer, and boost guage, and new oil return kit....
Does this sound like a good setup? what else do i need to be boosting

probally gonna have to be shortened and lowered depends on how much give with the pipping, might be able to cut it down and use a extra piece of silicon.Jason
can u fit the stock air intake pipe on your skunk2 manifold?
if yes, u will be able to use the pipes
boost gauge, egt gauge/ a/f ration gauge
310 injectors would be too small if u are planning to raise up the boost later
blue box, i am not sure if u can find any of those
if not, use FMU, FPR, ??
ppl will give more info
but i think u have the basics already, good luck and have fun

I have found some 310cc injectors, and a blue box from a greddy kit, and a oil return kit for 290 shipped. that is my plan for now, unless someone advises otherwise
To xBird i have a stock Intake mani, the piping was ment for a skunk2
Thanks for the advice, and please keep it coming....

310s are definetely smallish, especially since you didn't mention an inline pump to keep the pressure necessary for the small injectors. You should also get an egt guage wired up and a good a/f. read up on the a/f thing, none of that autometer ****. return kit is a good investement $7x.00 shipped from viren. Oh yea, perhaps a simple oil pressure gauge would do you good. remember gauges only help if you read them
talk to viren (b18bturbo) (vsracingparts.com) he'll hook you up with some good deals...maybe he even has leftovers from the sale, i'm not sure. i woudl get boost, oil pressure, egt, and a/f....although keep in mind the a/f is really just for a very general idea, not accurate enough for tuning.
I dont think i am going to get a air/fuel guage, but the boost, EGT are the priority at the moment, what brand and functions should i look into. I have a 96 GSR with a Greddy turbo
I would seriously reconsider not getting an A/F gauge, running lean will lead to detonation where running rich will lead to power loss. I am aware that a A/F gauge that runs off your factory O2 sensor isn't as accurate as the wideband units used at most dyno facilities it is still a good idea to have in addition to a EGT gauge.
even if i am running the blue box, I will have no boost controller also.
Do i need a inline fuel pump
