STOLEN: 2000 Si San Jose, CA.
Sorry to hear man. My old si was stolen back in 03. I still have nightmares of when I went to see it stripped to nothing. Hope you find it intact.
how are our cars being broken into and stolen so easily? once we figure that question out, we can take a better look at security outside of alarms and kill switches. those obviously dont work.
cars with alot higher dollar price tag usually have less security measures taken, yet less of those are stolen then the average honda. this has gotten out of hand.
im tired of seeing these pages of stolen cars, and i think as a community we need to collaborate and brainstorm every conceivable idea on protecting our beloved cars.

Really man? Civics are extremely easy to break into...there is no immobilizer from the factory, so they are easy to drive away with, as well. There are a couple ways to do it...you just need to be handy with a power drill and a screwdriver...
Get a 2-way FM alarm (preferably a canadian model because the range will go to it's theoretical maximum...the range is limited on US-market models), install a couple kill switches (look in the FAQ thread for more info), and if you can afford it also get a GPS-tracking system of some sort.

I just pull out my engine every time I park. I bought a nifty backpack to support its weight.

You should stop in to the Security forum on H-T sometime. Plenty of guides to stealth alarm installs, GPS tracking, hood cable relocation, hood pin switches, battery backups on the alarm, tucking the siren in an unreachable location...
It seems to work pretty well for the rest of us.
It's only as good as the install, and you could have a Viper 7900 but if it's installed at the steering column it's worse than a Matrix 1 on the firewall protected by large amounts of dashboard.

my buddys gsr got yanked from his college parkinglot. if he had takn the relay maybe hed have a broken window and a missing system instead of calling the cops for a ride home. maybe not who knows but that ***** goooone never to be seen again. i put a few paychecks into my ride and if it got stolen...id be just as pissed as the op. so it may sound dumb but i have my reasons
