Default in a bind... b16 or b18?

im looking to upgrade and am thinking of a b16 or b18 96-01 . i want to build a daily driver with minor mods. im not planning on a b18 with a 16 head. just looking for suggestions cuz my bro says go b16 but my homie says 18. whats better? why? thnx

the b16a2 from the 99-00 em1 is a decent engine, however there are also sir1 and sir2 jdm engines you could look into getting which have a slightly higher hp ratings. if you want more hp/tq then look into getting a b18c1 possibly. take a look at hmotors website and do some comparisons.

out of the two i say b16, but if you actually want to make power and be cost sensitive i say vitara build

Another option is a B20. If you go with a B20Z or high-compression B20B, then power output (with the engine configured to run in a Civic) will be VERY similar to a B16A. But torque will be better than a B18A/B18B (which is not all it is hyped to be when it comes to torque). Furthermore, you can pick up a B20 decently cheap.

No difference in engines on that one. SiR I and SiR II are trim lines for the vehicle. I hate the fact that I have to wait till my car gets past 4 grand before anything fun happens(99 EM1), but past that, it's a blast. B16 ftw.
