Im trying to figure out which color the dimmer wire is so i can wire in guages. its a 06 civic 1.8 coupe any insight would be cool. thanks for any help.

 

pull out your dimmer switch and look at the color of the wire??

 

there are five wires in the receptical for the dimmer including mph/km trip A trip B and oil life, id hate to start cutting and splicing. and i cant seem to find a Honda schematic online either of which would be great

 

Should have power @ each wire in the connector.

Led bulb's power wire is @ pin 5 the grey wire, lit in park/on position.

Use a scotch-lock instead of creating a break in the wire. Verify this wire will work with a multi-meter before you tap into it. Power and ground are controlled by the multiplex but the ground side of the led is a red wire.
