Bent trim
This trim piece is bent in on my car, apparently from a crowbar. The door is bent at the top and the weather stripping is tore up, so I'm getting a new door; but I can't figure out where to get this chrome trim piece. I don't feel like paying an arm and a leg. Can I remove this piece and use body filler to flatten it?
OK... Go to junkyard and pick up both side for like 25 bucks. The dealer cost for the TRIM is over 50 dollars.. I think it's up in the 100 plus range because I called and ask my local dealer and almost passed out when he told me the price.
When you take your trim out be very careful. Use a flat head screwdriver and see if you can save the clips. If you clips break you will have to buy new ones. They cost about 3 dollars each at the honda dealership. I payed about 30 dollars because they design them to break if you remove them. They are like anchors that you put in drywall/sheetrock.
Looks like someone was locked out of the car and tryed to pry the glass to get in/someone trying to break in. I replaced mien because I locked myself out my car and had to get back in. Most likely screwdriver marks.
