Default security code for the stock stereo doesn't work

so the security code for my stock stereo on my 08 si coupe doesn't work. i called 2 different dealerships with the serial #, and they both gave me the same code. i even pulled the stereo out to see if maybe the stereo display was showing the wrong serial #, but the sticker on the stereo had the same serial #. any ideas? car doesn't have a warranty due to the salvage title so i don't want to pay honda to figure out the problem for me.

I ran into that problem once before with an accord. I'm pretty sure there is a number on the page with the radio code on it. I mean when you enter the serial number through Honda website there is a phone number that you can call for assistance. This was a long time ago but I rmember calling and talking to someone and I had to give them the serial number along with a few other numbers on the back of the radio. Then she gave me a few cods to try and one worked.

i just called honda, lady gave me the same security code as the dealership did and said if it doesnt work to take the car in to the dealership to have them check it out. she said the car still has the warranty so apparently honda doesn't know about the salvage title (i gave the lady the car vin). looks like i'll be going down there and see what they have to say about it.

i actually found a guy on 8thcivic who managed to find the correct code for me, i'm guessing he works for honda somewhere. no idea why i got the wrong code from the dealers and the honda lady though.

I've been having the same problem with my civic and no one seems to be able to advise me on how to get the radio to work. Dealer's code didn't work and now I don't know where to get it. Can you please advise me on what to do?
