Default serpentine belt diy??

Well it looks like I will need to replace the serpentine belt on my S. I have been hearin some sqweakin and noticed some cracks on the belt, got a quote from the dealer and they said $425. I thought that was a bit too much considering the belt itself is 50 bucks or so. Anyone ever changed it themselves here, hard to do, it didn't look all that difficult. One other question, is there any way that the pullies are actually causin the problem I was thinking I may need to replace them. Did a search for all this but got no info.

$425 to change a belt? holy ****.

I think it is fairly simple...the tensioner is above the alternator i believe

once you take the tension off the belt it should be pretty strait forward.

It's one belt. -take a 14mm closed end wrench to the tensioner, push wrench forward or to the left, remove old belt now put on new one, release tensioner. just make sure u look at where the belt is wrapped before removing it. now sit back and have a since u just saved youself $170.00 of rapage
