Default 1990 Honda Civic DX 4 Door Automatic. d15b2 to a ZC swap.

THis is me and my friends first time swapping an engine, and we decied to do this honda 1990 civic with a d15b2 we have been sitting on for about 3 months.

i bought a ZC engine from attarco for 450 dollars.

we are in the process of pulling out the engine right now.

we are hoping we do not have any problems with the swap, but i was expecting the ZC to have a black valve cover and this one is silver, but it looks like it ha been painted.

either way what parts am i still going to need before we drop the ZC in? any help on a d15b2 to a ZC engine swap or write up is greatly appricated... like i sad.. this is our first time.

thanks in advance.

and here is pics of the project so far.

the car

thats a sohc zc. its the kinda the same motor as the d16a6 motor that came in a usdm crx si. the b2 have a dual point fuel injection, you need to convert your harness to a multipoint, or just get a si harness off a 88-91 civic/crx or an ex harness off a 88-91 civic sedan.

after that you need the right ecu, i would normally say pm6 ecu, but who knows what you could find better.

that motor is pretty much just plug and play after the harness conversion.

you need to make sure that your using a multipoint fuel injection manifold.

plus if you want to be 5/4 speed an 88-91 civic/crx si tranny is good. make sure you grab the pedal assembly, shifter and shift linkage. [good thing about cable transmission is you dont have to worry about getting a master cylinder for the clutch. unless you want a hydro clutch]

google sohc zc motor swap.
youll find how to's.

hey thanks for the info,

what kinda car can i get a multi point fuel injection manifold off of?? what about injector resistor? do i need this?

also how do i tell what kinda ECU i am looking at?

also as for converting to a multipoint,

i think i wanna just get the harness of of a si or a sedan EX,

considering my car is a sedan should i get it off of an EX?

or should i just get the Si? does it make a diffirence? what is the best harness?

your going to have to make your dpfi harness into a mpfi harness. not too hard. i dont know what ecu the soch zc uses but i would get a pm6 si ecu,

harness wise, either/or would be fine. thats if you can find one thats not all hacked up.
ecu wise get it off a crx si, PM6.
intake manifold wise, get it off a d16a6.

how did you pull the motor out without taking off the tranny? haha.

get a manual rack off a crx/civic si. you dont need power steering.

or you should have taken the tranny off with the motor.
and bolted it back on before dropping the motor in there.
