i rencently bought LX- auto trans,

the dealer said the basic price was 21000 dollors.
the total price went up to 26000.

anyone explain the complete price pattern, including the tax and state tax.
i am in virginia.

and anyone can you plesae expalin meaning of GAP..

I would have thought that this all should have been explained to you during your sales meeting.

As far a gap goes... Gap is a form of insurance that covers the "Gap" between what your personal insurance company will pay you and what the pay off is on your auto loan in the event of a "total loss" car in a bad accident.

yes, it is my first car..

but, the destination 670 dollors was included in price 2100 dollors.
do you know how much will be the tax generally?....

Also are you paying this out of pocket or are you getting a loan out for the car

If so what is the % rate at? how much you put down, did you add anything else to the car.

 

each dealer and state are different... it should have been explained to you very clearly, otherwise you had a bad dealer. one thing that might have happened is that you agreed on a monthly payment value as opposed to a OTD price... that's how dealers always get over on people and can "PAD" there profits. If you agree to loan term and a monthly payment you have basically given the dealer the okay to charge in purchase price whatever those totals come out to be... this can be multiple thousands if not caught by the buyer prior to loan documentation being signed.

If this just happened you can go back to the dealer right away and tell him you want to rescind your loan contract... the right of recension is pretty much universal... but it has to be done within three business days of contract signning

As an example... my accord cost 27,000 and I got OTD in total for 29,500, that's about 2500 in tax license doc fees etc. a 21,000 accord should have been around 23500-23750 otd

On the money thats what was mine like here in NY that is what i would expect for the LX as well

Didnt know that the dealer can install Navi on the LX model.

MSchu, do you know how hard it might be if i was to add navi to my 08 6-6 if I get the stuff from a junk yard?

i didn't add any other items to the base model.
there is no navigation on my car..

the 26000 is from my pocket, there is no loan and no intrest rate..
i think the tax is 7% and virginia state tax is another 3%.. i am not sure..

any idea..
