Default Good oil pan for slammed cars?

My oil pan is about an inch off the ground, and it scares me some times, haha. Are there any oil pans (my car is turbo, by the way) that I can get that can make me a little less worried about breaking/cracking?

My EG is slammed also. I cracked the oil pan on the entrance to a friends driveway... so i gotta new oil pan and welded a 3/8" steel plate to the bottom. Other than this I wouldnt know what to do.

If your pan is a inch off the ground your car is way too low. The windage tray and crank is not much higher than the pan.

i even fixed it for you :-)

but so true i still don't get this. i am all about giving your car a drop but there's no need to tuck tires except for being able to say i'm dumped. personally i am not even that low and i still have to crawl over speed bumps.

defiantly if your that low you need to look into some bracing/shielding get some square tubing and thick plate of steel and start welding to protect the pan!

ive been thinking of building one for my 99 but since my springs are alittle to short and soft and i dont have extended top hats yet it was riding on the bump stops like a turd so i lifted the front back up alittle. maybe when i get stiffer springs and top hats ill slam the front again and build some bracing to protect the header and oilpan/tranny.

ya i know i need them and stiffer springs as well. my springs are i think a inch or two shorter than they should be.... price for buying them used and they guy lied the springs are for a pre91 civic.
but i dont drive my 99 to much.... ive been rocken my project 96 for the last few months.

but im still low enough to drag the splash guards on just about anything raised. LMFAO
i just hate hiting those suprise potholes... it really sucks hearing that horible sound and just wondering did it do any damage....

im definatly gonna build a brace for mine when i slam it again. worth the time and money to protect the motor and tranny!

I think you quoted the wrong reply.

Yeah I know, I just love the look of being so low. I try to watch what I'm doing, but sometimes I just can't.

haha i used to be so dumped that i ripped my exhaust of the hangers pulling into driveways, and i actually broke it once. i definately learned my lesson from that lol.

i know that sound exactly, even if you aren't slammed you get that sound sucks driving a car with stiff suspension in illinois. roads out here SUCK
