PCV valve grommet stuck in Black box need serious help
Well, Doing a full tuneup on my car, changing the pcv valve i suprisingly get it out fairly easy, go to change the grommet and
In the process of pulling the grommet out, it gets stuck in the box, so i spend about a hour fingering popping the black box trying to get it out, its like 4.30 in the morning so i decided to give up for tonight, since I have class in the morning. My question is what would happen if i left that little bit of plastic in there will it cause back pressure, i am not really sure what the dam thing does, so please explain it to me so at least i can take this as a learning experience if any.
How hard would it be to take off the box in full, i have a extra y8 block in the garage and i looked at it and all it has is like three bolts and then you pull it off, but underneath the car its a lot harder, I was doing it so long that i got scrapes on my elbow without even knowing,
In a nut shell, whats the best bet, take the whole dam intake manny off and, then take the box off, or just leave the little bit of plastic in there and just go about my business please let me know thanks guys, ill probably Bump this later in the day since its 4.30 and i dont think anyone is up to read this ****.

if you're talking about the black box next to the oil filter, there's just one bolt at the bottom holding it on. then you can pull it out of the block and dump the grommet out the big tube that goes into the block. if you leave it in it _might_ get down into the oil pan, probably nothing to worry about.
well same thing happened to me, i was changing my oil and decided to change the valve while i was down there. well when i tried to take it out, it broke in half so part of it was still in the breather chamber. i tried everything to take it out till it just fell in there. ive been driving my car for a couple of months since that happened and i guess its ok since i havent noticed any problems.

i'm curious why this thread is continuing. one bolt holds the breather box in. just undo the bolt, slip the box off, do what you have to do to fix the problem, and replace the box. it's not that complicated. you'll be able to fix it ; )
had the same problem. went to the walk in clinic across the road for a bogus pain in my knee. pocketed a pair of hemostats. the really long skinny surgical clamping plyers to get it out. its become my favourite tool in my glove box. good luck
