Default Is there a spec for Starter Clearance?

I'm working on my bellhousing to mount a T-10 tranny to a B18 block, and was wondering if anyone knows what the spec for clearance between the starter pinion and flywheel should be. I know on a Chevy it is usually about .020" but with the different size gears on the B18s parts, it would most likely be different. If I were to take an educated guess I would think it should be less because of the pitch of the gears, but that would still be a guess. I'm not sure if I'm going to have the starter mount adjustable or get everything lined up and weld the mount solid so it doesn't move if I have to change starters.
Some gears (like the Chevy) measure the distance between the tip of the pinion and the valley of the flywheel opposite that tip. Other times the clearance is measured as a function of backlash. Either would help if there is such a spec available.
