D16z6 motor/ D16Y8 intake MAp sensor question
whats up HT. i picked up a Z6 from my homie and it cam with a Y8 intake. my question is the map sensor on the throttle body. how will this work when i have the map sensor on my firewall that use the vacum lines? do i use both or just one of them
Check this link out, it is a dyi on the Y8 mani swap. I think you just extend the map sensor wire and use the one on the tb (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

you actually dont necessarily even have to extend the wires. and yea thats right, just unplug the harness from the map on the firewall, and snap it into place on the tb mounted y8 map.
You can do this two ways, depending on what you want to do.
1) You can keep your firewall mounted map sensor and just plug the spot on the Y8 TB. Run vacuum lines like normal.
2) You can use the Y8 style one, but you will probably want to extend the wires because it is a very tight fit without doing so.

I did the firewall style on my sirII. It was easier than extending wires.

yea extending the wires would probably be a good idea no doubt but i was lazy. i just left the stock map on the firewall also, so now i have a backup
You actually don't have to "extend" the wires. All you have to do is strip off the loom on the map sensor wires and at the base of where it comes out cut back the tape to free enough slack to run to the tb mounted map sensor. Put the loom back on and you are done. I did mine like that because i deleted everything off the firewall though, just looks cleaner to me.
