someone is selling a spun bearing zc locally. I plan on building this for boost, i have a dohc zc. Is there any way to tell between the sohc zc and dohc zc? are they the same? Please let me know wat to look for. thanks.
**Oh yea is there any aftermarket forged/ low compression pistons for a dohc zc? ive checked endyne rollerwaves but they were a lil pricey. Ive heard vitaras will bring the compression wayyy too low. thanks

Yeah, lets just go with that.
If you're looking at the pistons just look for a PM7 stamp on them thats the dohc pistons.
Also for a decent compression PM6 (d16a6) pistons with a thinner than stock headgasket or a little bit of milling off the top would result in about a 8.5:1 compression ratio.
Edit: Almost forgot but when I bought a ZC with a spun bearing I had to buy all new connecting rods and a new crankshaft because of the damage and out of roundness. Don't forget that 88 and a few 89 ZC's have a 22mm snout on the crankshaft meaning that sourcing a new crank counld be quite time consuming.
