Default Transmission or cluthch problem?

Another question........ When my car is parked and turned off i can switch gears fine with out any worries, but when i crank it up and tries to put it in gear its either hard to switch from 1st - 2nd and grind when shifting from 3rd-4th.

A friend of mines said it was the clutch cable bc i have a b16 swap with a gs integra tranny for the time being. the clutch is still good.

any suggestions on what this problem could be.. also its very hard to push in the clutch pedal.

its a 91 w/ b16a1 swap/gs integra tranny.

if you can still adjust the clutch, do so.

if youve run out of adjustment, and still cant shift right, you have a stretched cable.

i dont think its an issue of the clutch itself.

How do you know that your clutch is still good? I have had to clutch kits malfunction on me and each time it is very hard to shift & get into gear.

The clutch was changed about 85k miles ago. I bough a new clutch but i would rather try the easy fixes before dropping the tranny to replace clutch that is in working order.

Im thinking it could be the transmession because in my 91 integra it was doing the same thing and it was the transmission going bad

I'm think it is the sancros that went bad. im going to replace clutch/clutch cable that should fix it unless its the tranny going bad

When worse comes to worse & the easy fixes don't do it then when you drop the tranny just make sure you take the clutch off & make sure it's still good instead of assuming the tranny is bad. Happen to me before so just letting you know so you can save time & money.

If the tranny shifts perfectly when the car is still and the motor off then it is the clutch or the cable. That is if you didn't have a problem with the shifting before.

if theres anything internally wrong, it would be the shift forks rather than the synchros being bad. regardless, still a bad thing.
