Default REV Limit, NA build jdm b18c type-R

How high can i safely rev up the engine with my setup? I'm also adding a cel light indicator to light up when shifting in recomended, what would be a recommended shifting point in the rpm band?
Thanks in advanced.

engine setup, 2-layer head gasket , jdm s80 lsd tranny, 310cc injectors, skunk2 high comp valves, skunk2 pro valve springs, skunk2 vtec ti retainers, skunk2 pro2+ v-tec cams, skunk2 pro cam gears, skunk2 pro ntake manifold, and bbk 70mm TB.

ITR is 9,000 rpm safe, but I don't rev mine past 8800 RPM.. pointless stops making power after that.

get it built and tuned then look at the dyno sheet to see where you stop making power and dont rev past that.... not beneficial to rev past your peak power especially for a street engine

What he said.... With a similar set up I made power to 11,500. Rev to where you make power then stop.

put it on a dyno and see where power stops. shift 10% above peak power and set your rev limiter right above your shift point.

it is not pointless to rev past where it makes max power.

you want to shift at the rpm where it is no longer beneficial to be in that gear.

God i love Don.

Your rev limit isn't just where you stop making power.. I wish people would STFU who don't know wtf they're talking about..

Rev it until it shuts itself off.

best advice as of yet because I see a thiner HG for higher compression, bigger fuel injectors, new cams/camgears, and a bunch of other head mods to support more power, but yet no ecu or even VAFC to regulate the a/f ratio. If you run all those mods with a stock ecu, I don't know a lot about B series, but I'd say your motor won't last long if you can even get it to run at all.

would it be wise for this guy to spin past stock rev-limit considering his bottom could be stock? that's something i was always wondering about (the valvetrain can handle it, but can the OEM bottom end bits?)...

But then you have to graph torque in each gear and find the crossover point...

Yeah, that's too much work. So I'm just proposing that DonF had the correct answer.
