So I changed the starter on my 2004 honda accord lx 4 cylinder!!. what a pain!!. I got the new starter with same size and position. I installed it by placing the pinion housing inside the tranny housing hole and the pinion facing the flexplate. the lip on the starter was all the way inside the hole and I placed both screws and thighten them a lot so the starter wont move. at first crank it gave a craking noise but the car started. second crank the same so I decided to just take it for a ride. I do not know if the starter could be mess up or the flexplate could be damaged as well. plzzz help!

 

Where did you get the starter from.

 

was it a grinding noise? did it sound like the starter was still engaged after the car started? what did the noise sound like????
