Default How do EP3's handle off road and in wet/cold weather?

I do allot of driving on back roads/fields for camping and stuff. I also am required to drive up north where it gets icy and other horrible road conditions.

Iv always liked the EP3 looks and the interior is to die for. But Im not sure it will suit me for my needs. Other options I have lined up are RAV4, Element, Forester, and Legacy Wagon.

Also, how big the back seat in a EP3? big enough for one person? or will it be like my old 92 hatch in which there was no reason for it? is the trunk/hatch space big enough for for
camping gear and a duffel bag full of clothes? How is the gas millage? Will the engine run hot after driving non stop for ~3 days? my old b18c could go more then maybe 8hours before it started to warm up.

Anything you can tell me about the car would be appreciated.

i have recieved quite a number of comments on the "huge" back seat area.... I think people expect less out of a smaller car.

Anyways, I don't have much off roading experience with the EP3. As far as mileage... I was getting abour 34mpg on the highway... and thats pretty good considering at 80mph, you'll be at around 4000 rpm haha

Never had any overheating issues.

So you're looking at AWD Wagons and SUV''s and somewhere in that thoughht you throw the Ep3 in? I can't understand that logic. If you need something that will handle offroads, a Honda Sports car is not what your looking for. The Element will suit you fine.

I love my new EP3 but I also think that the element would suit you better even thought the looks leave something to be desired. The other parts of the car make up for its visual short comings

I had no idea the civic SI was a sports car...

And it does somewhat fit. hatch for luggage, front wheel drive for bad weather and 4cyl for gas. the only main difference is that its not as large as the other options.

But if you own one I'll take your word that its not a suitable car.

you should be ok with some good snow tires on it. go check one out at a dealer, the backseat is larger than it looks.

Hitting bumps and rocks if going to amplify the steering rack issues EP3s have.

Buy a sonic yellow WRX wagon. It's bigger, AWD and cheaper.

wet/cold weather they handle just as any other honda does. As for offroad.. nowai.. I would buy a wrx wagon if I was going off road a lot. The ep3 is definetly "Different" than every other car u see on the road, but not offroad material. Anothert thing, if you buy an ep, and dont lower it, it will look like a raised mini-van instead of a COOL mini-van

The Civic Si is far from a sports car. It's a 'sporty' FWD hatchback...but that's still not nearly as good as a CRV, AWD element, etc. for gravel and off-road conditions.

The Si doesn't even have a LSD, so if you drive through some mud (and get stuck) you'll get one wheel spinning like crazy. Better hope you brought someone along to push if that happens.

There is no way I'd even consider that car for what you describe you want to do. Buy an older CRV and be done with it.
