you can buy these asian made new windshield like for 100 bucks and it takes like 2 hours to do at home.
you would need to buy a tube or urethane and have the windshield removal tool.

an extra set of hands to remove the old glass and place the new glass would be nice.

Werd! it was good quality glass too like OEM. unlike some other companies that use cheap glass which could damage your eyes from the glare from the sun and could give you headaces!

Hey,

Whatever you do, do not try this at home. To change your own windshield is risky and could put your life in danger in a roll over accident. Their is people who do this every day who occasionally make errors. Let alone you have absolutely no idea what you are doing. Please for your life's sakes please see a professional.

If you have insurance which you should, call your local glass company and have them come out to you. Windshields are a safety issue so insurance should pay for it. If you feel uncomfortable with the company watch them like a hawk while they do it. That why they can't screw up.
I just had my windshield replaced and I made sure they did it correctly. The guy probably was annoyed, but hey he got paid for the job.

If it meets DOT standards it should be good.

Windshields are just one of thoughs things that it is cheeper and easyer to pay to have it done. most places around here will come on site and install the windshield for just under $200

how it cheaper to have some shop do it its like $12 for the windshield removal tool kit from harbor freight and at my local pick and pull windshields are $25 also for 92-95 civic any model windshield will fit dosent matter if its coupe four door or hatchback also to remove your old windshield use some duck tape on both sides of the windshield then tape a bag on both sides git in the drivers seat put you lugs up and your feet on the windshield and push it will come right out

normaly I wouldn't bother replying to a question like that but here goes. How much is your time worth? you say go buy the tool so that means driving some where to get it lets say that takes 1/2 hour. then you have to take the time to go to the salvage yard. Well at most you pick yards it a good 4 to 5 hours looking through cars and if you are not lucky enough to have on out your back door then there is the drive time and fuel. So all said and done you will prob spend 8 hours at the salvage yard and you walk out with a used windshield with small scrathces and a few stone chips. So we are up to 8 1/2 hours. Now you need to get the old window out Ill be nice and say 1/2 hour to prep and get it out and an hour to prep the used window for install. Lets not forget and window adhesive you need so misc cash out $10 for adhesive and cleaning material. So with your prices $12 for the remover tool $25 for windshield + the little things you forgot $10. So out of pocket cash just around $50 for peices and parts. Not bad now add in the big ones Whats you time worth ? lets say $10 an hour thats $100 that take the total to $150 now add in a tank full of gas at $4 per gallon $40 so where up to $190. So I bet your thinking well no one pays them selfs for there work right. well wrong on this instance with one phone call the glass guy comes out to where I work does all the work installs a new windshield in a few hours all the while I am getting payed to work. Now my car is done at the end of the day and I payed less out and continued to make money while the window was done. Its all about how you want to spend your time and doing a windshield to me is just not worth the time so for me its cheeper to pay someone to do it

i work for Safelite auto glass, i would say go to any auto glass shop for them to do it. they have all the proper tools and it should only take them no more then 45 mins. and alot of companys have lifetime warrantys from leaks n defects in glass n all. i have done a 98 civic hatch and it doesnt take long. u can def find a shop that will be able to get it done for 250 if not less. with a warranty. or you can find someone that works in the shop and have them do it on the side for alot less. i did my buddies for 150 installed but my price. also no mess of broken glass all over.
