100% sounds like a main relay.

I've changed it twice, and the hardest part is getting the mounting bolt back in.

I even made my wife try with her smaller fingers. Eventually I caved and pulled a bolt from the dash to free up another inch of room. just enough to get it with my tongue stuck out the right way.

If you remove the coin tray its right there staring you in the face.

If you do a search there is a thread about repairing them I remember seeing one time. If you're handy with a sauldering iron it may just be right up your alley.

i just did this the past weekend... from searching the site.

remove fuse cover
remove coin holder
unscrew hood latch
when you have the door open, there a vent that goes through the door.
take out the vent cover and you will find the dash bolt that will free up another inch.
thats it... no more stranded ef.

thats a lot of work....

I pulled the hood latch the first time i did it, just b/c i wanted the whole area cleared out so the realy was on a platter.

Once i had done it already i just left the hood latch in and did the "more swearing" technique for the second time.

on a side note, always try soldering the old one before buying a new one, because it almost always fixes it
