i am assuming he is from a foreinh country. in which case ther have a 1.5 vtec that is very similar to the d16z6. about 125hp. it would probally be a bitch b.c of the carbs. might intail changing fuel system.

That's because, i believe, vtec-e instead of being tuned for performance, is tuned for gas milage and reliability.

that makes sense...i have a turbo and im still getting like 70 mpg...j/k

The "E" stands for elephant...because the car is as fast as one.

ohh btw, vtec-e stands for vtec-economy
without vtec, it's working in 12valve mode...
when vtec came in, it works in 16valve mode

Here in Australia, the civic 'breeze' came with a 1.3 carby engine. It was the base model.

well if you could have had a 1.5 from the factory but yours has a 1.3, then you are not too far from a swap.

since you say both motors were available in the same chassis, there is your answer. You need to look at a 1.5 in the same chassis you have, that will give you a clearer picture.

sounds like you need a 1.5 swap with everything... so maybe look for a wrecked car that had a 1.5 and go about stripping it of everything for use on your car

You will need to ditch any wiring under the hood, and replace with the complete wiring from an upper model, one with the d15. If you get everything, it will be a drop in swap. Engine, tranny, axles, wiring harness, dristibutor, etc. You can probabally salvage your shift linkage, depending on the 1.4 liter being a d- series as well.
