Default Setting Timing

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but I was told I need to get a timing cover in order to set timing on my B20 (water pump and timing belt replacement). Can it be done without this timing cover as I never received one when I bought the motor?

The old belt was already removed during B16 head install. Block is all stock w/ stock B16 head, with a OEM timing belt and water pump going on it.

Default Re: Setting Timing (Fresh'86)

On the lower timingbelt cover there is a line that points at the crankpulley, so if u use a timing light to set timing the line should point at the middle mark on the crank pulley when the car is at idle. Hope that helps
