weapon r race header...?
anyone have any input on it.. im curious to see how it would perform against the tdm/hytech knock off. i think it would have a nicer powerband due to the runner pairing
weapon r

hytech knock off
weapon r

hytech knock off
I don't know, but I installed the hytech replica on my ls/vtec and DAMN I noticed a huge difference. I can't wait to get it re-tuned in the next up coming weeks.
i have the hytech knock off on my street car now.. b20vtec making 240+hp
but from what ive seen most setups with the hytech knock off have a dip in power in part of the powerband.. ive been able to make mine very smooth by tuning the intake length/cam gears/etc

i would also think that pairing 1and4,and 2and3 would make for a better power band also. i never understood why the knockoffs didnt. maybe its easier, cheaper to get equal length

If you want to try your luck at bidding on a hytech on ebay, you can them as cheap as $200 shipped. I paid $217 shipped for mine but they usually go for about $235 shipped. Which is a really good price for the gains it gives.
Are you running the big tube or regular tube. If you're making 240+hp, then you definitely need the big tube. I would think the small tube would be causing the dip dips in the power band.
I had a DC Sports 4-1 header w/2.5" collector and I had a dip in my during VTEC crossover. Now with the hytech, it is really smooth and that is without tuning yet.

i have my own dyno.. ive tried both the big tube and the small tube... made the same peak power...small tube made about 5hp more from 3k to 7k
Their was a header test with like 10 different header(s) and the weapon r race header was in the test if I remember correctly. The thread is floating around here somewhere.

Yeah, their really isn't that much info out for this header. Very few people bought them let alone posted results from them.

I believe this was of an old Weapon R design not that pictured above.

You need to post the dyno to give that statement meat. I'm not saying that it isn't true. But someoene needs more documented evidence before they would make a decision one way or the other. The curve would also show if it's across the board better or just say from 8100-8500 rpm which we all know is where we all drive our cars at.....

Exactly. I switched from a Comptech to a hytech replica big tube and made 4 more PEAK whp, but I lost power EVERYWHERE below 7500 rpms. It sounds good to say you made 4 more hp, but in reality midrange is where its at.
