hey everyone.

i have a EG hatch civic over here in the UK, over here our tailgates come standard to fit rectangular numberplates, do all the USDM EG hatch's come with numberplate surrounds on tailgates to fit square ones?? if so this might sound like abit of a mad question but would anyone want to ship me over one? i really wouldnt be fussed on what condition the paint is aslong as it wasnt dented, i could pay through paypal.

Just curious, why would you want a USDM square plate tail gate?

 

over here iv been looking for a JDM tailgate for weeks and not one has turned up mate, so i thought hmm i swear the USDM tailgates are the same with a square plate surround, since mine doesnt have enough height to fit a square plate on ^ ^ ^ anyone know of any companys who sell USDM parts but will ship to the uk? cheers for your help lads

Judging by my friend's recent purchase of a JDM '92-'95 Civic sedan trunk, the license plate holes are in different locations on JDM and USDM vehicles.

Since there was no way to change out the location of the plate holes for the sedan (they're in the metal body of the trunk), we had to drill holes through her license plate so it would fit on the new trunk.

 

ahh right thats cool mate, i just need a tailgate that will fit square plates on it. anyone know where i could get hold of a tailgate ??

Are you sure the mounting for the license plate is on the tailgate or on the license plate garnish (the removable part)? Some models and bodies might have it one place, while another has it elsewhere.

 

as far as i know mate over in the UK, the JDM tailgates are just bolted on straight onto the actual tailgate itself. dont think it comes with a license plate garnish on the jdm ones over here
