Default Civichick - 1 : 99slammedcivic - 0

My girlfriend and I were bored so we decided to hit up wally world. We decided to do an arts & craft project so we picked up some supplies !

I had a set of oem itr wheels that my buddy tried to paint black but they didn't turn out so good, so I figured I'd mess them up some more My girlfriend wouldn't let me do any of the work b/c I was 2 impatient to tape off the tires properly so she took over !

My girlfriend thought she was serious business

but she couldn't breathe and got stuck ...lol

Finally back to life

Stripping them down w/ aircraft remover

Reason she wouldn't let me touch them ( i'm 2 damn impatient to tape properly )

Along the way

Finished product... I need to put my bumper on properly .. yuck

Maybe spent 25 minutes on each wheel getting them ready
-Hit them w/ aircraft 2-3 times , then 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint, 3 coats of clear ....

It was fun and worth the $20 or so .... We are going to wet sand the 2 finshed ones and paint the other two wheels 2maro !

I"ll get pictures of them on the car as soon as she finishes my other 2 wheels

civichick > 99slammedcivic

Note to self,do not try and paint rims when it's 106 degrees! Those bananas look like they are coming out good buy I still think you should have done some candy paint.

I originally wanted to painted them purple but I couldn't find a cool purple at walmart so we decided to do yellow since I have never seen them in that color.

It is just for fun and now that we know how to do it, we can always repaint them a different color !

I &lt;3 bananas !

It makes me laugh that your gf was like "GTFOutta here!" with the paintings. I'm the same way when boys are like, "I just do it this [very dumb and illogical] way!"

to her! LOL

Sparkles needs way more than paint, maybe dynamite. I just notice that the valve stems are yellow.

Thank god for that, go walmart, stop stocking purple paint for wheels.

BTW, Index cards are even simpler for masking off wheels, your GF wasted a lot of time. "boys" might be illogical but MEN arent. </TD></TR></TABLE>

well, being an "illogical and dumb" boy, I would have deflated the tyre and run a sheet around under the rim, then reinflated when the paint was dry. the rim would be properly done and save a shitload of time.

but what do I know
