Default RSX dependability???

Hey guys, I know this is an RSX forum so I'm sure the answers will probably be biased anyways but I just wanted to ask. My girlfriend and I are looking for her a new car and came across the RSX today while looking at some 03 accords. Our price range is probably around $10k max. Will an 02 or 03 RSX be dependable as say an accord or civic. Yes, I know Acura is made by Honda so its probably a stupid question. Just want to see if there were any common or known problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, WM

im going to have to say it is as reliable and dependable as any of the above stated vehicles. ive seen many rsx-s with well over 100,000 miles with minimal problems

Thanks. Sorry for the dumb question but whats the difference between the S-type and non. The insurance is a good bit cheaper in a non.

Not to sound crazy but it's a honda.... unmodified the will last forever will standard checkups and maintenance. I have an 91 accord winter car with 290XXX miles on it and an 05 Type-S with 50XXX and both run great. Can't go wrong with Honda!

Yeah, pretty much figured that! We found one for a really good price but its got high miles. Close to 150k and its $7k I think. Do these motors have a timing belt or chain? The recommended change is around 100k isn't it??

They have a timing chain which just requires servicing. I would not think 2 about getting RSX its a great car... personally would go with the Type-S...

Thanks Dave, Yeah Type-S would be nice but its not going to matter to her. Besides were really trying to keep the insurance down as much as possible. Type-S jumps it up a good bit more.

The Type-S only came 6-speed manual too, so factor that in if she doesn't know how to drive stick already.
