Won't crank with key....but starts with remote start!
Sometimes i go start her up with the key and i get nothing. I hear clicks and thats it. Now...if i use the remote starter feature on my remote it starts right up!
I did jump the clutch switch with a wire and still nothing.
I know the remote starter bypasses the clutch switch.
Any info?

Ok, so i removed the harness off the ignition switch housing and turned it and still nothing. Could my harness be bad?
Well i know its not the cylinder cause i removed the switch from the back of it and still did same ****. Sometimes i get lucky and it turns over. Other times no go! Lucky i have remote start or i would be screwed!

Wait, are you telling me you pulled the wires off of the key cylinder, turned the key, and zomg the car didn't start? Well no ****, there's no wires on it!
Here, let me narrow this one down for you.
The problem is between your key and the wires on the back of the key cylinder.

I didn't pull wires off, lol, i removed the 2 screws from the white housing. Turned it with a screw driver and still nothing.

Ah ok. I got you now.
I'm still thinking key cylinder though. The remote start is just hotwiring the car to start it more or less. So the harness is good, it's gotta be the cylinder.

i think its the ignition harness cause i had the same problem. i had the remote start alarm and it would only start with the remote and not the key. i would have problems if i stalled in traffic. lol. i would have to throw the e-brake and remote start the bitch and then go. it was a hassle but once i changed the harness then i was good to go.
It is your ignition switch, the remote start system uses relays to apply power directly to the starter wire coming from your switch back into the fusebox, thereby 'bypassing' the ignition switch. When you have an intermittent no-start with the switch and the car starts every time with the alarm, then the switch is the only thing that makes sense, unless the alarm is wired up to have the ignition switch go through it always. To test that theory, hook the wires on the ignition switch straight back together like stock (to bypass the alarm totally) and try the key, if you get a no start condition then the first thing you should do is to replace the switch. This is a very common problem on Honda ignition switches with 200k-ish miles and up.

Yeah that was my conclusion with the remote start theory. And yes, the remote start works EVERYTIME so i know nothing is loose! Gonna order a switch through the process of elimination. i have 200 plus miles so it could be worn. After it comes..i'll post the outcome but i am sure thats it.

Sorry for the late post but wanted to update this incase anyone else had this problem.
I replaced my ignition switch/harness through process of elimation since i performed alot of testing to various components. After installing new switch/harness she fired right up. The switch was bad only in the crank position. The other 2 positions were still good. Happy i had remote start or i would have been screwed and stranded alot of times.LOL
Thanks guys for the input
