Subs acting up
Ok so i have a problem with my subs, they used to work now there just cutting out more than they play. The amp is getting power and the light is green even when the subs arent playing. They turn on for like a second when i switch them on from the headunit and then just shutoff only to randomly come on whenever haha what can be the problem.
What y/m/m of car...
and what specific equipment is it that you're having this problem with?
Also is the amp getting hot at all during these "cut-outs"?
First thing you can check is ALL of your connections pertaining to this amp, and make sure they are tight. Make sure RCAs are plugged all the way in and make sure that there are NO loose or undersized ground connections).
If you have and know how to use a digital multimeter...you can measure the impedance of the sub/s (disconnected from the amp) as a start. Just unplug the speaker wires, running from the amp to the speakers, and test the positive and negative speaker terminals on the box itself.

If the fuse in the amps power cable is the AGU type, [big glass type fuse] replace it, even if it looks good.
As asked, what is the make and model of the sub and amp?
Along with connection problems, [power ground or signal] as a possible cause of your problem, [the AGU fuse being a connection problem] the amp may be going into "protection mode".
Try this, disconnect your sub from the amp and connect up another sub or speaker to the amp and see if amp still cuts out.

Yo Instead of making a new thread my friends 240 has the exact same problem.
We tried a different sub already and it still didnt work.
The fuse is good. I volt metered the all the connections and they are all getting power.
the subs are not though
any suggestions?

Did you meter the "connections" when they were under load, [system on]?
Have you checked the amps ground?
Turn the system on and meter the amps ground lead, at the amp, us the DC volt setting on the meter, does it show volts?
Is the amp turning on, [indicator light]?
Have you checked the amps inputs, is there a signal getting to the amp?
