LS VTEC vs B20 VTEC
I'm looking to have a motor built. I have a 98integra. I was debating on which is better. I really want it as a daily driver and no track racing. Im looking at 220+whp. Which is a better choice?
220 whp would be easier with 2.0 liters, but there have been many times where the b20 blocks have had sleeves crack. Some will swear by B20 blocks while others swear against them...
The LS blocks have been proven and seem to have alot less sleeve issues...
Unless your getting the block sleeved or feel pretty lucky, Id stick with the 1.8 LS block...
Good luck!

First off... the 2 liter is the way to go. If you crack a sleeve you are being greedy with timing. LUCK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Can a 1.8 liter do it?... sure... but it is gonna be trying harder. As long as you keep the 2 liter 84.5 mm or under... stock sleeves are fine
Do yourself a favor and look around on the 1.8 and 2.0 all motor build threads
the search button is your best friend... really

Either is fine.. it can be had both ways. Search There's plenty of lsvtec setups and b20setups make the same amount of power.. some lsvtec's do it for less, others do it for higher then b20s
220+whp on the street is fine, make sure you have the tires, tranny and spens to support it.
190whp ls/vtec i used to know of ran 13.1's which is faster then the majority of the **** on the street.. whp isn't everything..
