F23A Swap - Transaxle issues- need help.
Hey all - I just finished swapping out a new engine into my car f23A1 to the same engine swap- This is my daily driver and I need this up and running. Here is my topic on Hondaswap.com for details.
http://hondaswap.com/accord/f2...17516
But here is the problem- the transmission that is on the new engine was the same on I had on the old engine and it worked fine before. After doing the swap. I let the engine Idle and I tested everything for leaks, and checked fluid levels. Everything was good.
I put it into reverse and it is really rough but goes into gear - and then put it into first - rough and slow to get into gear , but it goes. I take it on the road and here is where the problems start...
When I go to put into second- the car feels as if you are downshifting - I instantly slow down and no matter how hard I stomp on the gas- it wont go more than 2 MPH. Now, I can put it back into first and drive like that, but that is all. It will not go into 2nd gear or any other gear past that for that matter.
IM getting a CEL of 70 and my indicator light on my dash for what gear I am in is flashing on the D4 even though I am in park.
I talked to my mechanic and he is saying it is going into some kind of fail safe mode is what it sounds like- he asked me to go recheck all my connections. I did and they seemed okay.
I need some help bad, I hope this is an Ez fix. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

its throwing a code p1768 its about solenoid A but i tested it and it works- disconnected solenoids b/c and now i can get it to drive in 2/3 gear only but i would like this fixed still i want 1st and 4th.
lol sorry its just funny what you said at the end.
I read through your thread on the other site. Now, you said the tranny was dropped.. did it crush anything? how did it fall and was there anything that could have been damaged when it did fall.
also, you said your T/C came out. Are you sure you got it back in correctly, and its engaging? You said its running rough, sounds like you aren't getting the pressure you need to get into different gears. possible bad T/C or possible its not installed right.

tranny was dropped by a height of 1 ft - landed on the end opposite the bellhousing - landed on the metal and didnt crush anything. the torque converter is seated all the way. it can get it to drive i 2/3 with the two solenoids disconnected and only in first when they are in. there is a vaccum line coming from the tranny im not sure where it goes though.
is it oil or atf? vacuum line MIGHT go to the motor mount.. i think the 5th gen trany/motor mount is vacuum actuated.
as far as the solenoids.. are they clean? and attached in the right places? i believe you can take them off and clean them though im not sure. look for a vacuum diagram to see if you can find it.

will do - i will look under there when i get off work today.
when I installed the T/C - when the Bell housing was all the way fastened - the torque converter could still spin and had about ]-----[ distance in between it and the flywheel - which i assume it was in all the way- then i bolted it to the flywheel using the 8 - 10mm bolts.
***update- since i cannot post more then 5 times : /
There is a vaccum line on the top of the transmission to the left of the starter when looking at it from the front- the vaccum line is connected to the tranny but i cant see where it goes. its only like 1 foot long so it cant go too far- ive been looking every where - i guess that could cause it not to shift- but as for the leak, that is a big problem. any ideas on the vacuum line?

Looks like it is leaking from the CV's they dont look seated in all the way for some reason - they were in all the way when installed - damn..
could that be the reason its not shifting?
do those hold some kind of vacuum seal within the tranny?
its leaking on both sides too and they both look out some -
the T/C area is completely dry-
I can also tell its the CV'c because there is tranny fluid launched all on my bottom end like some fast rotations put it there.
