Another Mugen MR5 MR-5 center cap question!
Hey everyone, how's it going? I thought about posting this in the wheel section, but figured I would get better responses in the 88-91 section. I recently re-finished a set of MR5 wheels that didn't have the center caps. I found a set of center caps, but they're painted.
Here's my question. What is the center cap made of? My goal is to find a set and polish them out. From pics, some look like they are slightly polished. Some are painted. I'm a MR5 noob, so any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks everyone!
Here's a recent pic of the wheels, I desperately need the center caps as you can see! I'm not too concerned about the lug caps..

theyre really not man.
its just a shiny coating that will flake off easily like the "chrome" border of the honda emblem. the body of it is plastic.

np, glad to help
I took me a while to get my stuff too. I came out lucky though, got my wheels in A+ condition with the center caps and tires mounted all shipped from Japan for $900
Six months later i was able to find a used set for $100, but 4 came with broken tabs
I spent two more months looking, then bought a whole set "brand new" with the key for $180....that made up for it

I wonder if there are a couple different versions, mine are metal, 100%, in fact they even rattle a bit, metal on metal cause a couple are a bit loose.
I'm up at my storage unit again next weekend, i can take one out and take very close pics to prove it

if they were metal, the tabs wouldnt have broken so easily.
when i care enough, ill take pics of the real set of mine too.
actually the screw in the middle of the lugnut covers might be stainless, but not gonna bet on that either.

It does appear that some are plastic, i did a search and found these couple pics of plastic ones

Like i mentioned, mine look pretty much the same, but i could swear they are metal. I do know there are two or three versions of MR5, i believe mine are slightly different than the ones pictured above.

I did some searching already, and there's places that specialize in 'chroming' plastic center caps. They do it for as cheap as $10 per cap! My Rota center caps were like that, they nearly looked chrome. I really just want the center caps to bling. They cannot look dull! I really appreciate the help guys! Check out these center caps, this is what I want. More than likely, these owners just have super mint/new caps..
