Default Is there anywhere you can get the synchro spring (wire ring) separately??

Looking for a supplier for the synchro springs. I'm talking about the little wire ring that goes on the synchro ring that gets flat over time. If you can not buy them separately, does anyone think there would be enough demand to get some produced? If I can't get them but can get specs (wire composition, diameter, etc) I'll have some manufactured. Getting tired of having to rob other trannies of parts to get one that is "right".

Any help is appreciated. This is for a B series specifically......

Ryan

I know there has to be someone that sells these without having to buy the whole sleeve kit!

If not, I think I know what I may be getting manufactured very soon.....

I have a cable YS1, a hydro GSR, and a couple hydro B16's right now that need some. Pretty sure they all use the same synchro springs but I can't be sure as I haven't taken the YS1 apart yet. I do know it will need one though.

Do you know of any people that sell just these? If not, any way you can get me dimensions on these springs? I am serious when I say I'll get them manufactured. I think it's kind of dumb that people don't sell these separately. Seems like every couple trannies you see one of these rings flattened....

like i said ryan some of the D springs work on some of the B's syncros...but yea that doesnt solve the issue at hand. i think its really dumb you cant buy these anywhere. you could probably make a fortune selling them.

Not necessarily looking to make a fortune; just have something available that a lot of people need....

I'm going to try to take the B16 shafts I have out of a trans apart this weekend so I can measure everything. I really wish I had some that were PERFECT though so I could know the exact dimensions of everything. I don't think the people I'm talking about will even consider doing anything unless I order at least 1000 of each side; pretty sure they are going to ask me for an order of 10,000 of each size... That's OK if they'll sell and I can get my money back.

Doubt it is worth the investment. I was gonna have thinner shims made for the OBX LSD's when they were running wide, not cheap!

We'll see. I work for a manufacturer so I can probably get a better price than someone off of the street. More than likely, one of the suppliers we already deal with can make them.

Then again, you could be completely right. May be way more expensive to make than it's worth. Very good possibility that this is why we don't see any offered yet.

Back to the top. Looking to buy a few sets of good used ones of these for a B hydro trans. Does anyone have some? I'd take up to 5 full sets of them. That way, I could get accurate measurements to have them made new.

I was gonna say synchro tech. I have used them twice now. Once for some gear speed synchros and once for a spring. They have great customer service and fast shipping. Seems to me they buy Honda synchro sleeve sets in bulk and part them out

Yep, bought a good amount of them from him a few months ago. Shipped quick and they were exactly what I needed.

Great guys to deal with.

Yeah David is big on customer service and is a good businessman! Known him for years...we built my first trans way back for my old EF9 and did a lot of prototyping on the carbon synchros before we ever sold them....the good ol days!
