the motor is a b18a1 from a 90 -93 teggy so ive been told on this forum.

would it be stock tranny cause the housing lines up perfectly with the motor?

Get the clutch for the engine. If its a cable clutch still you only have a couple of choices of tranny. Chances are whoever installed the engine didn't swap the tranny and if they did the flywheel is still the same.

even if it is stock, which it most likely is. he needs to know if its a 90-91 engine/trans or a 92-93. input shaft on the tranny for 92-93's is 1/16" an inch larger than the 90-91 trannys. i would say that if he has the resistor box still, that its probably the 90-91 tranny, however theres a reasonable possibility someone elected to use the obd0 injectors on the 92-93 engine when it was swapped, and then retained the resistor box. that being said, i'm not really sure how to figure out which one it is

driver side shock tower area, nearest the firewall. If its there it doesnt really prove anything cause the engine could be obd0 or obd1. if it is not there, then it is very likely a 92-93 engine.

you should be around 3000rpm at 60mph in 5th if its an LS trans

Edit: To the pic above. that only proves that its an LS engine from 90-93. not whether its 90-91, or 92-93.

yea thats fine. and since the box is there, that means it could either be a stock obd0 engine , or possibly an obd1 engine that someone simply used an obd0 dizzy, obd0 injectors, and then retained the box. which is quite common. So at this point i wouldn't feel confident in saying its a 90-91 trans for sure. perhaps theres some other way to differentiate the two that i am unaware of. I guess you could take the trans off and measure the input shaft. i'm unsure however of where it is you need to measure from exactly. And since the difference is only 1/16" an inch, you would want to measure as accurately as possible.

Look at the casting date on the head, assuming thats the original head on the original block

thats just the valve cover that came on the crv's. probably changed. can you get a clear shot of the front side of the head? right above the header? that is where the casting marks are, telling us what head it is, and when it was made.
