looking for new fuel pump, what lph should I get?
My car is a 88 civic hatch std with a d15b vtec swap. Im thinking though my fuel pump isnt giving as much fuel as I need. I just got it smogged and passed but it has no power, new piston rings, timing belt, and head gasket. I was thinking since my old motor was dpfi and now its mpfi, the fuel pump isnt giving out as much pressure as it should. Im not sure about the "walbro" brand 255 lph. I really don't know though, Im just brain storming. If anyone has any advice Id like to know. I dont think the fuel pump has ever been changed for that matter.
No reason to do anything other then an OEM in your case. I'm running a cammed 1.8L with stock fuel pumps and it's rich.
Are you just thinking you need to are you having a fuel related problem?

A little bit of both, its running really lean, low rpms, I couldn't drive it hard even if I wanted to. It feels really slow even for stock. What is a good brand of stock fuel pump to get? Im not looking for crazy speeds but I know it should be faster than what it is now.
anyone? Im really wanting to get to the bottom of this. My friend said that the pressure for a dpfi might be different than mpfi. Im just looking for any good info on this matter.

it might be but thats what the fuel pressure regulator is for. its on the end of the fuel rail it adjusts the pressure to what the factory sets on it. I have seen boosted motors swapped from dpfi running the stock fuel pump. you should have no problem.

I doubt you need a larger fuel pump. If you plan on going turbo or N20 in the future than upgrading wouldn't hurt. You can never technically have too big of a pump since the fpr does all of the regulation.
