Question...

My friend just picked up an '05 EP3 K20A3 and was interested in the Hondata reflash. According to Hondata's site, it is only available on the '02-'04 models. However, if you look in another area of the website the whole year range is listed ('02-'05). Is this just a typo, or was there a change in the 2005 Civic Si's ECU that makes it non-reflashable? I've searched this website, the internet, and Hondata's forum and cannot find anyone that has asked this question before.

the factory ECU tune is different between those years, but shouldn't be any different other than that.

Hondata e-mailed me and said that they are unable to reflash the 05 ECU, and did not give me a specific reason...Just that they can't do it.

My friend's ECU is a PNF A13. They stressed that only A01-A12 can be tuned. I'm really wondering what the difference is if it makes it so they aren't even able to do it.

They also told me that an 02-04 ECU CAN be installed in the 05 chassis, however K-pro would HAVE to be used for it to work.
