Default Cyl #2 misfire

hey HT i threw a code the other day, turns out is was my cy #2 misfire.
poped the hood to investigate, and it turns out my #2 spark plug wire does not sit flush against the valve cover like the other 3. I pulled out the wire and and put it back, put some wieght on it, but the mother [freak]er wont go in all the way.

i reset the ecu and the car runs fine, but wtf? im kinda worried something worse could happen any ideas?

woa, sorry for the late response.

when reinstalling plug #2, it doesnt seem to thread, or better yet, "catch". i guess that means its stripped huh?

If it doesn't catch then its stripped. It also means you're screwed.

not screwed your never screwed. you just have to do alot more work. like pull your engine apart and weld in a piece of metal and then drill and tap it. but it whould be easier to buy a new block. but i guess this other option is very not reccomended and have never done it but seen it done get a socket tap it to thread your spark plug into it and then hammer that socket into your engine. again NOT RECCOMENDED BUT WILL WORK.

if u tap it then no .. u have to take the head off. but there in another option. u can get a reverse thread chaser. if that doesnt help. then u will have to do the insert and tap. try not to use helicoils if possible. i normally use the copper inserts. same concept of helicoil but alot atronger and safer.

that's what i was thinking. since the spark plug boot isn't sitting flush, the threads are probably just dirty. they have a reverse thread chaser at kragen for $50. what do I need, 14mm?
