Default EG CROSSMEMBER IN EK

I thought I saw a thread on here at one time about installing an eg crossmember and rack into an ek. I have searched and can't find it. If someone might know can the front crossmember and rack from an eg be installed into an ek?

most people install a EG crossmember into a EK because it makes the K series swap better and have more header room i believe.

IIRC, they are interchangeable. I think the EG crossmember has better header clearance for doing K series swaps and some people were putting them in the EK's for this reason.

EDIT: Lobster beat me to it.

I found where people are doing this on k20a.org. It raises the motor and stuff for more ground clearance with the k20. I'm still pondering to go k20 or h22 though. I have a spare h22 sitting on the engine stand. Would I be able to use the eg crossmember with the h22 swap in my ek?

ppl with k swap motors do the eg crossmember swap bcuzz they wanted to use the Hasport Ekk2 motor mounts which gives better ground clearance and positions the motor at a better angle..hasport also makes the EKk1 motor mounts which DOES NOT require u to swap crossmembers instead using the stock ek crossmember...i dont think swapping crossmembers from a eg to EK for a H series swap will do much for u but then again i never done a H series swap in a EK b4 so i wouldnt noe...might wanna try the Hybrid section

kinda late to the race here, but the EG crossmember actually weighs about 10 lbs less than the EK. If you really wanted to go through that much trouble to install it with an H22, good for you, but the only reason I'd plan on running one is using EKK2 mounts.
