Default coolant bypass

i have a 89 d15b1 and i was wondering if you can do a intake manifold coolant bypass? if so how?

sleeping civ yeah i did it on my grand am b4 and it does work
but i dont know how on this car....

u cant bypass this hose it feeds the head coolent.

put a cold air intake on it or something a better radiator to keep it cool

There is actually a coolant hose going through the lower portion of the throttle body that I believe people disconnect and then loop.

I doubt it does anything though...

i think he may be talking about by passing the coolant hoses for the throttle body??them are the only hoses u can bypass with out messing with the coolant flow.

i was thinkin he meant that to at first but then i realized that on the d-series they still have that doohicky that routes the coolant to the iacv. but yea, what he said, just plug it off its not needed for anything important

this isn't a mustang lol. theres not point in bypassing the coolant in the mani. but at least i know where you're coming from.

Actually yes I do. For cars that were manufactured closer to Canada this coolant bypass would keep the throttle body temperature moderated so the throttle wouldn't stick in the winter months. Imagine starting up your tricked out 5.0 on a cool winter day and banging gears down your favorite strip full throttle. should that throttle get stuck wide open....you can figure out the rest. This is why I drive my mustang in the summer months.

lol ok just making sure.yea i did it to my crx but if u live in a state where it get **** *** cold IE snowing then i wouldnt suggest doing this.
