My friend found an s2000 for sale for $10,000 It is an 02 and has only had 1 owner. He has all records of the cars service and most if not all was preformed at the dealer.

Here is the catch... it has 149K miles on the car. He lives about 90 miles 1 way from where he works so most of those miles are freeway. If you do the math, it is like 21K miles a year, or about 1.7 tanks of gas a week (lol)...

So what do you think, should he offer him 8K for the car? KBB and Edmunds used car appraiser says it is worth 11000 in good condtion with that many miles.

Also, he plans on keeping the car for a long time and the next car he gets will be a dad car.

 

i would definitely try a low ball offer first.

if it is truly highway miles as he says, then the high mileage is no problem...honda's will last forever with the right care.

You live in cali...Just tell your buddy to wait on it, I'm sure there are more s2ks in that state that have no rust and have about a lot less mileage that you can scoop up for a few more thousand..

Depends if it's state inspected. 8000 is way too low though.

 

It really all depends on what he wants to get out of the car. If the guy is asking 10 then he would probably do 9.5... If it's the color combo your boy want's then I would not hesitate to buy it at this price. It's a very good deal for an 02! Especially if the top is not torn and the car has not been wrecked!

 

Yeah i bought it. no problems at all... All service records and every 7500 miles oil and filter changed with mobile 1 synthetic.

every schedualed service was done at a honda dealer and he was the only owner
