Default CTR motor or ITR

waht would you guys rather have in your car? both are the same price and i think either motor will be left stock for a daily driver. i supose id only go with the ctr motor for teh novelty of it, but the itr seems like more for the dollar. opiions are welcome. btw, its going into a 96dx with 5lug and ctr goodies

well i still have my 2.0vtecCX, im not looking for a drag car. i guess just maybe interested in doing some different, havent many fast 1.6s lately and teh novlety of a usdm converted ctr. im also planning on not having the motor for more than a year and think that a ctr motor would be easier to get rid of.

The CTR would be much harder to get rid of in my opinion.

wierd, i just had this debate on CHB.

i stated that:
1. CTR motor an the ITR motor are usually sold for the same price.
2. the ITR motor is a 1.8L, produces more power/tq and can be equipped with the 4.785 FD

why NOT get the ITR over the CTR?

some people like the CTR because its more rare to see it in hatchbacks, than an ITR in a hatchback.

i dont think RARITY should have ANYTHING to do with what motor you chose. power, reliability for the $ is all that matters. sure, someone could say "i have a b16b in my hatch" for bragging rights. but someone else could just spank them real hard with a b18c1 or c5, or c-r (or what have you), and they would get the real bragging rights.

my 2 cents.

What's up Jonas. I just had this argument on CHB with you, and I say again that I would only get the CTR to help make a conversion. Now you say "No matter what you do, it will still be a USDM EJ6." Now obviously you can never make a true CTR from an American hatch, but if you want to come as close as possible you would have to get the CTR instead of the ITR.

Who gives a rats *** about trying to be something you are not.
You don't have a Civic Type R, you have a civic dx/cx. It will never be a CTR.

1.8 would be the best ... TQ and also FD which is great ...
but getting the b16b and use the itr crank and you would have 1.8 with higher CR and is still 1.6 right

daily driver needs torque too..
if a CTR swap was anything less than my GSr swap then I would be pissed.

go 1.8 and be done with it.

if there are otherbenefits for the CTR like it might have better gearing then whatever ITR you are getting, then that is different
