HELP!!!!SPEEDO TROUBLE. NEED HELP ASAP B4 I GET OUT OF THE GAME!!!!
I Have a 96 GSR my speedo does not work, so i changed the VSS, still nothing
, changed the cluster, still does not work
, then rewired it, still does not work
, thought it might be the ecu so i got a chipped P28
and it still does not work
. If it is not fixed by the end of today I'm removing the swap, wheels, and suspension and parting it out.
I do not want to get out of the game or buy another shell
. Please help anyone. Any suggestions are welcome, any help at all. PLEASE HELP

is that better. i hope you can read it now and actually try to help me and not critisize me. if you had this problem you would know how i am feeling about it.
why would you let a speedo problem get you out of the game, let alone make you part your car?
do the other gauges on the cluster work (i.e. rpm)?.

yes everything works but the speedo. I have just been trying to fix this problem and saving the money to buy parts. Your right about getting out of the game I am just frustrated. lol
pull up the wiring diagram for speedo, and start testing connections. grab a long piece of wire try to run it straight through bypassing all plugs. maybe one of your plugs is loose, this way you will find which one

Your not making proper contact , your clips are worn out.
Get a piece of wire, and cut it up, take out the wire and stick a few strings in each of the 3 progs, and plug it in, you need to make sure you got proper contact..

Pull the VSS plug off.. look down inside the plug.. make sure none of the prongs are broke down inside the connector.. This could be causing your problem..
Corrosion eats the prongs... and they break off down inside the plug causing your vehicle speed sensor to not work..
Goodluck!

got it fixed somehow there was no power in between the vss and harness coming out of the driver side firewall. i just spliced into the black/yellow wire coming out of the firewall on the driver side and ran it straight to the vss. so now i'm getting my buddy chase bays to build me a tucked harness out of my extra harness, with wiring grimlims lol. thanks for the help. going to the strip tonite to test it out
