(Z6) Weird rattling/jumping sound coming from...
...I'm not exactly sure what it's called. Basically, there's the timing belt pulley gear on the right side, the timing belt goes back (toward the back of the engine) and down onto another smaller gear looking thing (that I can't find the name of). I've noticed that my timing belt kind of tweaks and jumps every now and then, and there's a consistent weird rattling coming from that gear looking thing. I've looked around and stuck my head down there and from the sounds of it, that's the only logical place that it comes from.
Plus, when it does jump, the sound gets louder. It's weird, and I can't really explain it any better than that, but when idling, it always makes the rattling sound.
So my questions are; does anyone have any idea what that part is called? what may be wrong with it causing it to jump? is what it doing a huge problem? is it hard to fix and find the part to replace?
(If you need a better description of the sound, or perhaps a picture of the area I'm talking about, or maybe even a sound recording of the weird noise, let me know. I might be able to find a way to record it and figure out how to post it up.)
