AEM CAI Fitting Problem
Hey, like 2 hours ago i received my cai from aem. All excited wanted to put it on as quick as possible. I got a 97 accord lx 4dr 4cyl, F22B2 engine. And the cai wont freaking fit. First of all, the bracket where you are suppose to screw the sucker to the body doesn't come close to any possible hole, nor does it want to fit with the battery there.
Does anyone have the same car I have with the aem cai? Do they have pictures of it installed, i am really curious to see them. Thanks.

dude i would not cut that...i would send that **** back and tell them to send you the correct part for you car...thats bullshit...its there job to make the right part...its not your job to alter a wrong part and make it fit.

sounds like bullshit.... check the part numbers, sounds like u might have gotten a prelude unit? Measure the diameter of the intake, the 5th gen accord should be 2.5", the 4th gen lude will be 2.75", and the 5th gen lude will be 3".
if you really wanna stick it in the AEM tech's face, double check to see if the intake box mounting bolts are on the same location for all 5th gen's and tell the shop u bought it from to send u the correct intake. My 94 has an AEM CAI and it fits perfectly.

Dude if the right part number is on the box they put the wrong damn part in it.
Those things bolt right on. The proper part will have no interference with anything under the hood. 4th gens require cutting of sheetmetal to make the opening in the engine compartment wider, but the 5th gens require no modification AFAIK. But there is NO CUTTING of the AEM unless you're installing the by pass valve.

Does anyone here have the actual 97 accord with the f22b2 engine that has the aem cai ? Did the stock cai worked with their car?
The pipe itself had the right part number on it.
