i have a 1.6 eg w/cai/header. i did a timing belt on a frieds ek w/the 1.5 jdmvtec and when i drove it the vtec cracked and it was extremely noticeable. unlike mine. so i took the screen out of the solenoid and cleaned it, sure enough it was clogged with crap. the previous owner was very bad about the oil change intervals, and im sure the level went low alot cuz every seal and gasket on the motor was leaking before i re did everything. but after the cleaining, still no change. checked the ecu for codes, none. im almost thinking that maybe the passage is so gunked up that oil pressure isnt getting through at all. i watched the computer command the vtec solenoid on at 4800 like mitchell says but im certain its not coming on. anyone experience this before? thanks guys
