Default What type of oil to use?

Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 89 civic with 33k original miles. I was wondering which oil is best for these cars. Should I put Mobil 1 in or just bring it to the Honda dealer and use their oil?

33k?????? thats awsome bro.. good find...i mean real good find...i would use mobil 1...non sythetic or even castrol gtx is a dexcent oil...its a stock motor with original miles, so just use a descent 5 30 oil to make sure it stays in descent shape....honestly good find bro i would have jumped all over that if i had the chance

living in NJ its hit or miss with the snow, but i can say that whenever i drove it in the snowit was great...all i did was take my steelies and threw anow tires on them....their light, but very stable in the snow and its very easy to correct your mistakes because the car is so small

i do a trans flush, alternator and timing belt at around 50k...if you dont know the history of the car, replace things a little at a time...water pump, oil pump, timing belt, alternator belt, oil filter, oil, trans fluid, coolant, and air filter...i may have missed something but i would do as much as i can with the money you have....ya know just to keep it reliable
