you will be just fine. why are you taking it in with 40% left? why did you lease, was the payment too high on a purchase? how long did you lease for? why are you modding a leased car?
I'm wondering the same thing...I'm leasing an 08 Si sedan because the payments were too high to buy. Can you mod a leased car??? I'm planning on buying it after the lease if that matters...
The painting might **** them off a little considering it isn't exactly easy to get that off before lease trade-in.
Also, why do you have a hondata sticker on your ECU if you don't have a hondata reflash. Or do you?

the service guys dont really care if its a lease or not cuz they just gonna take ur money for the oil change...now if something happens to and its related to the parts u put on it then thats when i would start worrying about it...i would worry more about it when if u decide to give it back cuz the sale guys or whoever might trip that its not factory

I would never lease a car for More than 30 months. If I did lease a car I wouldn't be modifying it. People who lease a car because they couldn't swing the payments on a purchase are usually paying more for the car. If you lease do not buy the car at the end of the lease, you will get raped even more. If you do buy don't say I didn't warn you.
Anything you put on a lease vehicle has to come off. If you return it you most likely will be charged to return th vehicle to stock.
The OP was pretty foolish for reflashing a leased vehicle, I hope he keeps the vehicle though he will be paying like 5 times what the vehicle is worth in the end.

you wont have a problem with just getting the old change done but since u leased the car they will most likely charge u for putting it back to stock if u decide on returning it..but if u keep it u should be straight
the guys performing work on your car don't give a rat's *** to be honest..just before your lease it up change it bak to stock and u should be fine. on your 2nd oil change u can surpass the 0% meter on oil life, the 10w30 ur using is a nice brew of synthetic oil that surpasses the normal oil life.

the only problem with hitting 0% is that its supposed to record that in the ecu, so when you develop engine problems the dealer will know exactly why. not such a great idea.

I took mine all the way to -20%. The engine started to shake violently and was about to explode until I unplugged the battery and everything went away. *Phew* That was a close one. Now I have a disconnect battery button next to my ejector seat lever.
On a more serious note: Unless they have conclusive overwhelming evidence to show that old oil caused your engine to malfunction, I think you're in the clear. If i'm not mistaken as well, synthetic oil is good in excess of 5000+ miles. To think, the oil companies were telling everyone to change their oil at 3000 miles... these guys, they're so clever.

Wow you're a regular clown, aren't you? Disconnecting the battery won't clear codes like that from the ecu, just like you can't clear the info from the ecu about over-revving. FYI, regular oil is good for more than 5k miles as well; Honda recommends changing the oil on my integra every 7500 miles and nothing is mentioned about using synthetic.

i really wouldn't worry about the car being leased and no longer stock. like others have said, the service department doesn't care and the only people who really care should be you at the end of the lease when you return it; if it's not returned to stock, honda finance will just penalize you.
i'd wait until the oil meter life reaches zero for the first change. there's a belief that the oil from the factory has addition break in additives. after that you can change it as often as you want, imo.
if you look in the owners manual, it states clearly that the car does not have to be taken to the dealer for service. just as long as it's done with documentation by someone "qualified".
the first service is changing the oil and rotating the tires. the second was the same but you change the filter and they do a visual inspection of parts of the car.
my fa5 is leased and haven't brought it back to the dealer for any of the two services so far and don't think it ever will. its still "stock" except for springs which i can easily take off as well as all the other things i've put on it. i'm considering hondata. in the end, i'll probably end up buying the car out because of mileage whicf is fine because i don't think i'd be able to find any nicer used car for the money 4.5 years down the road.
hope this helps.

Woah. Calm down cowboy. A little bit of humor makes life a lot more enjoyable [...and it was pretty obvious it meant no harm.] Don't take it to the heart. Geesh.
