Default On the Road to 13 sec All Motor Accord

I ran a best time of 14.37 @ 99.4 MPH yesterday with my newly swapped JDM H22. (open header/intake/weight reduction 2480/Pulleys/FPR)

I decided to run on full Street Tires for my first shakedown passes. I was pulling 2.4 60s…and that's burning all of 1st gear and 2nd gear, 105 degree temp and 75% Humidity and unprepared track.
Not to mention, the stock Accord Tach isn't cutting it no more. I was either shifting to early or banging the rev limiter. I also need a wheel alighment..BAD. Its not wanting to go in a straight line

Hopefully by next week I will be making mid to high 13 second passes with the full 15x22x8 slicks and a SA2000 HelmetJ

The question to you racers out there: figuring I make 8-10 passes a week and the accord sees little to no street use, how often should I be changing my fluids ( Tranny,Engine). How about a tune up (Cap Rotor Plugs).

Add Nitrous to the equation (50-75 shot direct port in the foreseeable future) How often should I be doing this basic maintenance

Thanks

I think dropping from 14.3 to 13's is NOT as easy as you think. That's a huge jump. Obviosly if you throw it on the bottle, you'll have it pretty easy. N/A is a different story though.

Talk to 2point6 about his low 13 second N/A daily driver A/C powered Accord 4 door.

Well..If I drop my 60 ft times to 1.9.....Im at a 13.(All Motor)
Im probably going to run Nitrous later on. I want to hit a Mid to Low 13 in all motor trim first.

Race car fluid/plugs maintenence..Anyone??

Unless you have a LSD, you're not going to be able to get below 2.0 60'... open differentials suck.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a factory LSD Equiped Tranny

Open diffs do suck..I do know some civics running open diffs and running sub 2.0 times. but they are basiclly running on Gumballs. They are a worthwhile investment though.

well, how the **** did you accomplish that time, with a open header? you lose so much power with an open header on a JDM h22a, I drove mine to a muffler shop and it was so slow, right after I got the cat put on, welded (etc) it sounded and drove a lot faster.

you should probably change your fluids once every two weeks if you are at the track a lot...and also don't expect that motor to last long if you are always pushing it past redline...damn man...respect your engine a little more than that...build up the head some and then get a vafc and you should be able to run mid to high 13's w/o problems...

Actually, you loose low end torque, but top and power is good.

Why do you need an FPR?

TJccardco- Did you read my post...ITS A RACE CAR. When running open header, you loss some low end power on the bottom end but you gain twice as much above 5k RPMs. Besides If you dip below 5k RPMS while Drag racing, you need work on your shifting

Nickh- Respect my engine!?! ITS A RACE CAR! Ive been running my stock F block for about 3 years (136k miles)..***** to the wall. Every week, I ran that engine at the track 8 - 9 pases it its saw regular street duty. My brother Has a 93 Prelude Vtec for the same amount of time and hes ran it hard also. Its hard to match factory reliability.

WoneBeBeat- I got the FPR to prepare for future Nitrous Use. I also need to control the flow from the AEM in-line fuel pump

Thanks
