Default Skunk2 pro1 cam timing settings

Can any of you guys who run these things often give me a cam timing lift figure at TDC so i can set them without a degree wheel as the engine is installed as Skunk2 cant!?

No not my car, it was at a freinds workshop. They had the instruction sheet but no cam timing card, then they contacted skunk and they put in touch with the local distributor/dealer .

Tried looking online and speaking to the dealer in oz with not much luck so thought id ask you boys.

Those figures arnt cam timing settings required at TDC, rather if using a degree wheel opposed to using dial indicators which im wanting to, so require valve lift @ TDC figures for them to be set which they dont provide

why not do it how its supposed to be done instead of relying on someone who might not have a clue and risk mechanical failure?

If Im reading your posts correctly, you're asking for degree settings for the cam gears at tdc? Noone is going to know that exactly. There are too many variables involved.

Why don't you spend $30 on a degree wheel and mag base w/indicator to find out for yourself.

You MUST degree in camshafts for optimal performance.

I know what he is asking for, that is one of the ways I degree cams after I have taken notes for doing it the prefered way. He is asking how far open the valves are in overlap @TDC. I may have the Pro1 numbers, I know i have the 2's and 3's and Rockets numbers.

Yes most Aussie's do there cam timing in this way dont know why but as long as I can remember every engine builder over here talks lift@TDC for setting cams up.

very interesting topic.

i'm new to degreeing cams and all the while, i was scratching my head why in the world such specs, lift@TDC, is not provided as seen from most common manufacturers. could have been easy dialing cam/s in.

i guess it takes a whole 360 deg turn for a man to learn everything about cams.

Because the correct way is to actually do the proper centerlines, once that is done you can get the other numbers. A maufacturer is not going to give you those numbers, but the design numbers.

Maybe i should have made myself clearer regarding overlap at TDC but yes they are the figures i was asking for if you may have them Don id appreciate it.

Use a degree wheel on builds but when the engine comes in the vehicle and built by someone else ripping it out isnt really a cost effective option is it and yes it is a legacy left by toda, but what a good one and i think something other cam manufacturers should do, or at least have some idea about when you contact them.

Well yes and no. I know the number only because I understand it. The general public does not. As a mfg. I would give the design numbers as Skunk has. Because you understand overlap numbers, does not mean others do. If you new how many times i have tried to explain this( to people who should know better) you would understand.Do you want the primary or VTEC number? I may have the Pro1 number. Been awhile.

If you can supply the timing figures for the primary lobe @ 1mm or 0.050" (@ correct LCA)
That'd be enough to get it sorted.
Thanks
