Engine making a popping noise?!?!!
This problem just recently occured on my integra. I have a 94, RS, b18b.
I had a slight overheating issue around a month ago, but I fixed it since it turned out to be only a rubber tube leading coolant into the back of the engine(near intake manifold). But ever since that time it's been running weird. No smoke occured when I overheated; i just noticed that my gauge was awfully high when it all happened.
Now the problem I'm having first started what I thought was a misfire, the car seems to have trouble in the low rpm around 1.5K-2.5K, it makes the car kinda stutter when accelerating and it makes popping noises from the exhaust.
That was a week ago, a few days ago..it's gotten even weirder. Now..even when I accelerate, it makes popping noises from the exhaust as well as it struggling to accelerate. It sounds as if there's gurggling noises from the engine when I'm trying to rev.
Yesterday, I checked the distributor cap and it looks fine, and I also bought brand new spark plug wires. And the problem still continues.
Can someone please let me know what may be the problem. I'm hoping it's nothing too serious where I'd have to open up and gut the engine.

I'll try to see if I can get one done.
But what if I found out that I'm only firing on 3 cyl? Should I do more diagnostics like check my plugs?(I was suppose to do this) And would taht explain the gurggling?

Well i doubt it's your plugs... it could be i gues if one is really f'ed. But it might be a fuel problem, maybe an injector is shot or something. See if you're getting spark to all cylinders. Do you have a CEL?
