Default smoking brakes

i just got my brake pads and rotors changed, stock pads and rotors, i braked pretty hard to bed them in and when i parked my passenger wheel was smoking wit white steamy smoke....is that normal?

agreed

and slowly means light braking not hard braking.

Actually....

Most performance brake pads call for repeated 60mph to 5mph medium-hard stops, probably a series of 5-6 stops like that, then a cool-down period. This will get them smoking lightly and smelling.

This beds everything in correctly. Then let them sit for 24 hours, then you can go out and abuse them like normal.

I suppose you could try to break in OEM pads, but I doubt it'll do anything significant. When I first got my RSX I did a few moderate stops, but nothing like I'd do with a set of performance pads.

You shouldn't have stopped right away, they might actually warp if the heat is too much and you stop. They need to be driven for a couple of miles to cool down.
